In short: KueCam never receives your videos. The webcam image, sound, background removal, trimming and subtitles are processed in your browser, on your device. Videos are downloaded straight to your device. They are never uploaded or stored on our servers. KueCam requires no account.

2. What data is processed and why

Webcam, microphone and videos

Your browser asks for permission to use the webcam and microphone. Image and sound are processed on your device to display the scene, apply the virtual background and record the video. No image or recording is sent to us. If you use the “Share” button or a LinkedIn, TikTok or Instagram shortcut, you are the one sending the video to the chosen app or website, under its own terms.

Speech recognition

To scroll the text at the pace of your voice, KueCam uses the speech recognition built into your browser. While recording, the browser sends microphone audio to its own speech service (Google for Chrome, Microsoft for Edge, Apple for Safari), which processes it under its own terms. KueCam only receives the recognized words. They are used on your device to move the prompter forward and sync the subtitles, and are not stored anywhere else.

Settings stored on your device

To remember you between visits, KueCam saves in your browser's local storage (“localStorage”): the prompter text, interface and text language, the chosen background and imported images, your logo and its position, the format, text size, prompter width, the subtitle option, the dismissal of the information banner and, for subscribers, the Pro license key. This data stays on your device. You can delete it at any time in your browser settings (site data).

KueCam Pro subscription

Payment takes place on the secure page of Polar, the official reseller of the subscription. Polar collects the data needed for the sale (email address, payment method, country and billing address) and is responsible for it under its own privacy policy. We can access the information needed to manage the subscription (email address, subscription status, license key).

To activate Pro, the license key you enter is sent to our verification service (hosted by Vercel), which checks it with Polar. No other data is sent. The key is then re-checked at most once a day.

Hosting and technical logs

The website is hosted by Vercel. Like any host, Vercel processes technical data (IP address, browser, requested page, date) to serve the pages and keep the service secure.

AI captions (Pro subscription)

When you click “AI captions”, the prompter text (never the video or audio) and your license key are sent to our service hosted by Vercel. The key is checked with Polar, then the text is passed to Anthropic (Claude model) to write the captions. Anthropic processes it under its commercial API terms. We keep neither the text nor the captions.

Resources downloaded by the app

For some features, the app downloads libraries from the jsDelivr network (video editing, background removal) and the background-removal model from Google Cloud Storage. These services receive your IP address when the files are downloaded. Background removal itself runs on your device. The website fonts are hosted on our own servers, with no call to Google Fonts.

3. Legal bases

• Providing the service you request (prompter, recording, Pro subscription): performance of a contract.
• Subscription invoicing and accounting: legal obligations (handled by Polar).
• Security and proper operation of the website: legitimate interest.

4. Retention

• Local settings: on your device until you delete them.
• Subscription data: for the duration of the subscription, then as long as accounting rules require (10 years for invoices).
• Technical logs: according to Vercel's retention period.

5. Transfers outside the European Union

Vercel, Polar, Anthropic, jsDelivr and browser speech services may process data in the United States. These transfers are covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, object to, restrict and port your data. To exercise them: [to be completed]. You can also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (cnil.fr), or your local authority.

7. Minors

If you are under 15, ask a parent's permission before subscribing to Pro.
